Reef
Footwear started in 1977 when Argentinean military dictatorship
officials made it illegal to surf in Mar Del Plata, Argentina.
2 brothers, Fernando & Santiago Aguerre formed the
Asociacion Argentina de Surf, which eventually convinced
the government to lift the ban. In 1979, they opened a
surfing shop in Mar del Plata & started promoting a series
of surf-style contests in Argentina. This enabled them to be
at the center of the surfing explosion for the whole country.
Today,
Reef Sandals has grown to include not only sandals, but
shoes, socks, and a whole line of girl's footwear. From
sponsoring local surf, snow, skate, wake, bodyboard, and
motorcross, and other events all over the world, to infamous
Reef @ Todos Big Wave World Championship, Reef remains
a company committed to support the lifestyle that originated
the whole reef sandals smoothy ...
